Executive Director Morris has announced the appointment of Erica Mercadel-Hayes as the OPCD’s new NOLA-311 Manager. In November 2018, Mayor Cantrell announced the consolidation of the city’s 3-1-1 services within the existing public safety answering point (PSAP) services provided by OPCD. Mrs. Mercadel-Hayes is currently the 3-1-1 Manager for the City of New Orleans and she will transition to her new role at OPCD on December 17th. In this role Mrs. Mercadel-Hayes will be the liaison between city agencies and 3-1-1 to ensure the smooth transition of 3-1-1 management to OPCD, as well as work to enhance the overall 3-1-1 experience for citizens.
Erica is a highly experienced manager, skills and development trainer. She has experience working in retail, sales, customer service, financial services, mortgage lending, and office administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Dillard University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. Erica’s previous career stops include AXA Advisors as the Director of Recruitment Operations, as well as other leadership roles with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Dillard University. Erica is a native New Orleanian and resides in the city with her husband Carl and children Kyle, Tyler and Mariah.
