Several Appointments to the OPCD Leadership Team

NEW ORLEANS (January 28, 2019) – OPCD Executive Director Tyrell Morris announces the following promotions and appointments today to the leadership team.

Nishe Collins-Caire: Operations Manager
Congratulations to Nishe Collins-Caire for being promoted to Operations Manager, effective January 24, 2019.  Nishe has over 20 years of experience in public safety communications in various roles. She began her career with the New Orleans Police Department as a Police Complaint Operator and also served as a Police Dispatcher and Senior Police Dispatcher.  Nishe was promoted to Operations Supervisor during the consolidation of OPCD and most recently served as Acting Operations Manager.  Since assuming the role in October 2018, Nishe has displayed exceptional leadership on B Nights Squad.  Nishe holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Southern University at New Orleans.  Please help me congratulating Nishe on a job well done and best wishes on her continued success in this role!

Brandi Landry: Operations Supervisor
Congratulations to Brandi Landry for being promoted to Operations Supervisor, effective January 27, 2019.  Brandi began her career with the New Orleans Fire Department as a Fire Dispatcher in 2014.   Prior to working for the New Orleans Police Department, Brandi gained valuable experience in customer service, financial services, and office administration.  Her previous career stops include the Louisiana Road Home Program as a Customer Service Agent, an Administrative Assistant with Blue Cliff College, and a Capital One Bank Teller.  Brandi holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in General Studies with a Minor in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans.   Please help me in congratulating Brandi on her new role!

Ireona Foley Dowl: Operations Supervisor
Congratulations to Ireona Dowl for being promoted to Operations Supervisor, effective, January 27, 2019.   Ireona began her career in public safety communications with the New Orleans Fire Department in 2014 as a Fire Dispatcher.  Ireona transitioned to Telecommunicator II during the consolidation of OPCD in 2016.  Prior to joining the NOFD team, Ireona worked as a Realtor with Century 21 and Keller Williams, a Quality Assurance Claims Analyst with Garretson Group, and a Sales Representative with T-Mobile.     Ireona holds an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Delgado Community College and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree from Southeastern University.  Please help me in congratulating Ireona on her new role!

Tomasena Williams: Training & Compliance Specialist
Congratulations to Tomasena Williams for being promoted to Training and Compliance Specialist, effective January 27, 2019.  Tomasena has over 10 years of experience in the public safety industry.  She began her career with the New Orleans Fire Department as a Fire Dispatcher in 2008, and transitioned to OCPD as a Telecommunicator II during consolidation in 2016.  Tomasena has proven to be an effective Fire Dispatcher Trainer and currently holds a Communications Training Officer certification within the APCO Institute.  Tomasena is currently attending Delgado Community College pursing an Associate’s Degree.  Please help me in congratulating Tomasena on her new role!

About the Orleans Parish Communication District
Formed in 1982, the Orleans Parish Communication District is the PSAP for all emergency communications via 9-1-1 within Orleans Parish.  The agency employs over 150 individuals and provides emergency medical dispatch, emergency fire dispatch, and emergency police dispatch for the millions of annual visitors and residents of the City of New Orleans.  OPCD is a member of the Association of Public Safety Communication Officials (APCO) and the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).
